celebrating my third entry! if i'm not careful, this will soon become an annual event... we can all sit around roasting marshmallows while i plink away at a keyboard in a sad attempt to reveal my ever so elusive thoughts.
the last chapter of summer is here, i believe. how many have gotten around to reading harry potter and the deathly hallows? i finally did--and loved every damn page. i was so thrilled that jk rowling wrote for the story itself, and i don't think there has been a more satisfying conclusion ever written. that of course is entirely false, but it describes my appreciation. now onto poetry...
i might as well be honest. much of what i will be submitting here shortly is in rough form. i've been having more trouble than usual completing a poem once i've started it, and i've never been a fan of editing my poetry. i think it has something to do with my method of writing, and that is (put simply): i write when i'm emotional. so that being said, you might understand how it's difficult to go back the next day and finish a thought. the situation--my muse--doesn't usually look or feel the same.
i've been acquiring so much music lately, it's almost painful not to share at least a few artists with you. i went to an awesome small venue, local artists gig in olympia a little while back. it was there that i heard tender forever, a french gal with quirky music and original stage antics. check her stuff out on myspace if you get the chance. i've also been enjoying:
band of horses
tori amos
mirah
the new pornographers
the gossip
imogen heap
the cranberries
in praise of folly
jason webley
supertramp
the white stripes
nightwish
rinôçerôse...
and on that note i shall leave you with your own predictions as to when the next journal entry will be posted. enjoy the last days of summer for the year 2007, and be well.
